In Kävlinge there is something for everyone. The range of recreation is farreaching:Swimming and sunbathing enthusiasts will be drawn to the pier in Barsebäckshamn while families will pitch camp on the fine sandy beaches of Barsebäck Saltsjöbad. The idyllic coastal hamlet of Vikhög is well worth a visit. Walk around among the small houses, turn off down towards the harbour and let yourself be captivated by the beautiful view over the waters of Öresund.
If you are looking for an adventurous experience a canoetrip on the river is a challenging alternative. But be prepared to carry the canoe past not one, but two waterfalls. If you prefere a quieter time, then no doubt a cruise on the river will suit you.
Many consider that we have the best pike waters in all of Europe. If the pike nevertheless manage to cheat you there are ample perch, eel and salmon trout.
Golf has strong roots in this district. A contributory factor here is Barsebäck Golf & Country Club which is a favourite amongst Europe's best players. Over the years major competitions have followed one another, among many Solheim Cup in 2003. A further three more golfcourses are found in the district: Kävlinge GK, Lödde GK and Björkenäs GK.
Kävlinge's natural areas are rich in both plants and species. The slopes of Dagstorp offer a stunningly beautiful view over the landscape. At Järavallen you encounter varied scenary with meadows by the sea that - through geologically interesting beach dunes - merge into forest, heath and marshlands.
